Synthetic Macrofiber
Synthetic Macro fiber twist and hybrid shape
Synthetic Macrofiber twisted and combined macro-micro (hybrid form) is a fiber used to replace steel fibers, steel mesh, and conventional steel reinforcing rods in a wide variety of applications. Our macro synthetic fiber meets ISO standards and is suitable for concrete and shotcrete, specifically used to provide tensile and flexural strength equivalent to that of conventional reinforcement. Concrete reinforced with our synthetic macro fiber has three-dimensional reinforcement with increased flexural toughness, impact, and abrasion resistance and also helps mitigate the formation of plastic shrinkage cracking in concrete.
Characteristics and benefits
- Equivalent or superior reinforcement to conventional reinforcement
- Easily added to the concrete mix at any time prior to placement
- Provides three-dimensional reinforcement against micro and macro cracking
- Increases durability, fatigue strength, and flexural toughness
- Reduces equipment wear and fiber rebound and increases build-up thickness compared to steel fibers for shotcrete applications
- Reduced cost in replacement of conventional reinforcement
- Controls and mitigates plastic shrinkage cracking and reduces segregation and water bleed

Embossed synthetic macro fiber
These fibers are wrapped in rolls of water-soluble film packages and packed in cardboard boxes.
Characteristics of synthetic fibers
- Provides good impact, fatigue, shrinkage, and ductility control in all grade concretes.
- Easier to use, disperse, and safe to handle.
- Can be used in highly corrosive circumstances.
- The surface has been embossed, improving the cohesive strength between fibers and concrete and increasing the shrinkage and cracking resistance.
- The tensile strength of the synthetic macro fiber is lower than that of steel fiber. Laboratory tests have shown that a dosage of between 25 kg and 40 kg of steel fiber per m3, can be replaced using between 3 kg and 6 kg of synthetic macro fiber per m3. Synthetic fibers achieve higher strength and ductility in the matrix.
